This book is a reference guide to the principal novels by Zane Grey. There is a biographical section highlighting his trouble in getting his novels published. There is also a section on Zane Grey's films made from his stories. The most interesting part of the book is the section entitled, Writings About Zane Grey. This section presents critic's reviews of the novels, and is interesting to read what the "elites" had to say about them. Kenneth W. Scott has done a wonderful job in collecting all of this information into a book. The only knock I can ascribe is the fact it ends with the 1977 publication of The Reef Girl. I wish the book could have continued with the works which have been published since then--but as it was published in 1979, it couldn't. I wish someone had continued. Still, all in all, this is a book any die hard Zane Grey fan would enjoy owning.
