Thank you God, for creating Molly Levite Griffis. I have never in my life laughed so hard and so much reading a book. As a confirmed bookaholic, I assure you that is just a few books shy of a load. I was laughing so loud I kept waking my husband up! It a good thing I live all the way down in Houston, otherwise, I'd be camping on Molly's doorstep until she swore we were friends. I have never connected so completely with a writer, maybe part of it is we are the same age and I, too, come from the state where the wind comes sweeping down the plain. Good Golly Miss Molly, you are some special zany lady with not only a talent for writing, but also a talent for life. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for this refreshing book.
Loved it!

As a huge Billie Letts fan I was interested but skeptical about this book. I am so glad I bought it. I haven't laughed so hard in ages. It celebrates two of the greatest joys in life: friendship and laughter. You will wish Molly is your friend as you read this. And you'll want to give all your friends a copy to enjoy. Now I need to find time to drive to OK to visit Molly's store.
A Funny, Charming Book With Universal Appeal

When you're just about to buy a copy of this book, which is Molly Griffis' collection of letters to her friend, Billie Letts, I think you should reconsider. Buy 3 instead. You will want to give a couple to people who are important to you. I never met Molly Griffis. But I know funny when I see or hear it. And she is funny. She's also warm, and charming, and insightful, and just wise. You will think so if you're a doctor, lawyer, student, housewife, or laborer. Because she can tell a story in a way that everyone can identify with and appreciate. It's purely a gift that cannot be taught or duplicated by those not so fortunate. You will literally laugh out loud at her characters and her descriptions of their antics, perhaps more so because they're real and not fictionalized. Well, mostly. Molly is a self-professed "blatant exhibitionist." She's larger than life. If you don't know her, after you read this book, you'll want to. I did. This is Molly's celebration of the lost art of letter writing. Literally, it's a series of letters to her friend and fellow author, Billie Letts, who penned the Oprah book club and otherwise all-everything selection, Where the Heart Is, which is now a major motion picture. Molly, who in real life owns an eclectic bookstore in Norman, OK, describes in her distinctively vivid, homespun manner the assortment of real-life, oddball characters who punctuate the fabric of her very colorful, albeit small town, life. And it will crack you up. Maybe what I like best about this book is its gentle, intrinsic cockiness. It screams out, here, read this, it's funny, it's entertaining, it's worthwhile, just for itself. And if that's not enough for you, go read War and Peace. But I'll tell you, if you do, read this book again right afterward. It'll put a smile on your face that you'll keep for a while. And you'll think of these stories long after you put You've Got Mail down. One more thing, which is difficult to put into words, is that the book is strangely comforting. It makes you feel good about everything. How much is that worth? I am a published author with some appreciation of the written word and I can tell you that for pure, unpretentious entertainment, this one is hard to beat.

If you are a Billie Letts fan then you must read this hilarious collection of letters from Molly Levite Griffis to her friend and adopted sister, Billie!! As Billie says,"It's all lies, and the parts that aren't lies are the truth, to somebody, somewhere. I think!" Since I happen to be the "other" sister in the book, I can say with certainty that my sister, Molly, has been known to improve on the truth. It will make you laugh and it might make you cry, but it will make you glad that you read it!! Of that, I am certain!!
