You're a Good Dog, Carl

I bought this for my 2 year-old niece's birthday, and it was the hit of the day, winning pride of place even over finger paints and Disney Princess gear. The stories are charming and fun, and the fact that they are told almost exclusively through pictures makes it ideal for children who are not yet reading on their own. The illustrations are lovely and the settings are easy to identify with. It's impossible to not love Carl and Baby.

As a former Rottie owner, this and all "Carl" books bring a tear to my eye, cause they remind me of how sweet my boy was and how much I miss a 150 lb. lap dog.

Nothing like a "Carl" book to read and look at the beautiful artwork with those small grandchildren. Just enough words to hold the little one's interest, but not too many for him/her to become restless and bored.

I don't have any children, but I do live with a 5 yr old Rottweiler. It is so wonderful to see Rotties portrayed in a positive light. My pup is just as sweet as Carl and this book made me smile as I looked at every page because I could IMAGINE him doing some of the same things. And, the illustrations are simply gorgeous. This book is awesome. I've read some of the more negative reviews on several of the other Carl stories. I can't believe that some people can be so dense as to believe that anyone would think that a dog can actually accomplish the actions depicted in these stories. The stories are designed to bring out the imagination in kids and adults to if they are willing to open their minds. Really, in one of the stories Carl can read, how many dogs does anyone know can actually read? Well I love this book and I'm going to order some of the other Carl stories.
