I found this book to be a good resource for any parent with any age child. I purchased this book for an online college course, but once I started reading it, I found it very hard to put it down. There are many good ideas and techniques for raising happy, caring children. I even tried a few techniques on my own children!! And they worked!!! I would recommend this book to every parent.

I purchased this book as part of an online course I was taking. From the time I picked it up I couldn't put it down! There is so much useful information in the book for parents of all ages and stages. I have already recommended the book to friends and family.

I feel that this book was very helpful. This book is written in a way that it is easy to read and easy to understand, that appeals to every audience. it keeps the reader interested by using real life scenario's throughout. This book would be very helpful to parents,to help them understand parenting skills, understand their children and their children's feeling, and help them become better parents. Also, showing parents what their mistakes may be and how to improve them, and stresses the affect that a parent has on what their children will grow up to be. I plan on re-reading this book, and referring to it when I one day have children. -Jaclyn Zanier

I reccommend this book to everyone. the author provides several techniques to assist both parent and child with communication, problem solving,preventing problems, while also teaching the reader to understand that a childs action may be an underlying problem. The author also gives great reason to end spanking, while offering other alternatives. awesome book!

This book provides in clear language a way to recognize the opportunities and challenges people face as parents. Although there are no instructions that come with raising a child, this book gives you a good set of instructions and methods on raising children and how to handle them through different stages of their developent. It focuses on good relationships, the difference between discipline and punishentand how to create a safe, competent and happy child. I enjoyed the book so much, I a including it as a gift to a good friend who is expecting her first child
