You Smell Dead #1 (Pretty, Frekin, Scary

My son really enjoyed this book. So much, that he's on to the next in the series. This book is good for getting boys to read. It captures their interest in a funny, not so scary way.

Fun book/series for young readers!

I LOVE this series! I was looking for some chapter books to read aloud to my 7 year old son, who isn't quite as motivated to read as I would like him to be (do all moms say this??), and I stumbled across this series. Funny, funny stuff. He loves the plots, is really intrigued, and can't wait to read every night. Only issue is that he gets so excited for these books right before bedtime that it's hard to get him to settle back down. Well-written and just plain fun to read. Suddenly my son realizes that books can be lots-o-fun!

Pretty Freekin Funny

My daughter liked the first two books in this series so much, I read them too. This book is not at all what I expected, but I liked it as well. Our Humble Yet Rather Desperate Narrator takes us on a journey with Pretty, Freekin, and Scary back to Franklin/Freekin's hometown, where no questions can be asked (a fact that led to Franklin's premature, mysterious death). This is a story that has to be read to be believed. We would also like to petition the International Order of Narrators to apologize to and welcome back Chris P. Flesh to their order -- and while they're at it, give Chris a nice plaque AND a shiny medal.

Spooky, cute, and fun

I was a little hesitant that my daughter wouldn't go for a book like this, but she took to it like white on rice. The book does a deft job balancing spookiness and humor - the end result is a fun read.
