The ultimate female fantasy!

What a joy to read a book where there are no tragic circumstances, no awful people doing awful things and no made-up misunderstandings. This was just a sweet, lovely book full of emotion and charm as only Erin McCarthy can offer. Somehow, she shows us how two very different people fall madly in love and learn to trust each other, while soothing away doubts and fears long held. Funny at times and intense at others, Jack and Jamie are satisfying and real characters. I must say it was a bit of a female fantasy to read a man so desperately in love that he will resort to begging and pleading in order to win the woman's heart! Of course, the fact that he was gorgeous and filthy rich made it that much better . . . Curl up in front of the fireplace with this witty and sexy book. You will fall in love it! Congratulations, Erin! You've done it again!

You'll Want To Know Jack!!!

Free spirit Jamie Peters wants to believe in true love and happy endings but that just doesn't work for her. She is a social worker with a heart of gold and the penchant for dating all the wrong guys and then one night a tarot card reading predicts that she is going to find love in an accident. Well, months go by and no love, no accident and then when she least expects it she literally slams into her knight and drenches him in his dinner in the process. Now she finds herself falling hard for Jack and thinks he is just about as perfect as it can get...it's possible that love has found Jamie. But then the unthinkable happens. She finds out she doesn't know Jack. Will she give this heartbreaker a second chance? Jack is working undercover and Jamie is his mark. She is his sister's best friend and when he meets her he is instantly spell bound by her curvy expressive self. Kissing her is the next best thing to heaven and it's all a lie. What will happen when she finds out the truth? It's a risk he is willing to take and the time to pay the piper comes sooner rather than later. Will she give him a second chance to prove it wasn't all a lie? With Ms. McCarthy's trademark humor she pens a wonderfully entertaining romance that will steal the reader's hearts. Jamie and Jack are dynamic characters and their chemistry is sizzling hot yet believable. I love reading Ms. McCarthy as she always leaves me with a smile on my face at the end of her books.

A Great Read!

Erin McCarthy has done it again. We first met these 4 roomates in Erin's The Pregnancy Test (A great book). This is the story of Jamie Peters a social worker with a big heart who seems to be a bum magnet where men are concerned... Enter a cross dressing psychic who predicts she will find the man of her dreams. She bumps into Jonathon Jack Davidson on the subway and the sparks fly. She is sure he is THE ONE... But does she KNOW Jack? This is a fast paced, fun story. All the characters capture you and you can't help but hope Erin will write another tale about the other roomates Allison and Caroline. There's a little bit of everything in this book, including several steamy sex scenes. A great book, you wont be disappointed!

An excellent read from Erin McCarthy!

Social Worker Jamie Peters has given up on ever finding true love. That is, until her psychic friend, Beckwith, predicts that her streak of romantic bad luck is about to change. Seeing how Beckwith is a six and a half foot tall male, usually wearing a dress, stilettos and full make up, some people might doubt his credibility, but Jamie has absolute faith in her dear friend. When a gorgeous stranger comes to her rescue on the subway, Jamie is certain that Beckwith's prediction has come to fruition. This man has all of the qualities she wants in a man, he's handsome, polite and thoughtful. One thing neither Jamie nor Beckwith considered were the several men in Jamie's life at present - her estranged father, this charming subway stranger, the co-workers and former prisoners in her office could it be that Beckwith has his psychic wires crossed?***** Jamie is no stranger to Jonathan "Jack" Davidson. He knows precisely who she is and deliberately staged their "accidental" subway meeting so he could get to know her better. Jack is investigating her agency and its request for funding from his grandfather's foundation. Something in the agency's books just doesn't appear to be on the up and up, and Jack suspects that someone in the office is involved with insider trading. His biggest problem with this mess is that he is intensely attracted to everything about Jamie - her mouthwatering curves, her sweet innocence, those sumptuous curves, her adorable freckles - and then there are those luscious curves . . . Jack suspects that she feels equally attracted to him. When the two of them act on that undeniable attraction, and spend an incredibly sensuous night together, Jack is in deeper than ever. He doesn't want Jamie to know who he is or that he suspects her of illegal activities, but she happens to be one of his sister's roommates the same sister who is getting married in two weeks, making it impossible for Jack to remain anonymous for very much longer.***** Jamie and Jack are wonderful together both are sweet and kind, even if their backgrounds and social status couldn't be any farther apart. Secondary characters include a vast assortment of family and friends, all of whom play key roles in the storyline. Erin McCarthy has the unique ability to completely draw you into her books every single time. I completely lose track of everything around me when I'm reading her work. Do yourself a favor and get your hands on this book as quickly as possible, you'll have no regrets.

Jamie Peters is about to meet her soul mate. At least, that's what her cross-dressing psychic insists is going to happen. The fateful meeting will involve an accident, food, and a huge lie. What? Jamie has no intention of finding any soul mate. She's not the kind of woman men dream about, anyway. She's more the maternal type - a nurturer, not some sort of seductress. Besides, Jamie always seems to find fixer-upper guys, who always move on once she's patched them up. That's probably because her job as a social worker tends to spill over into her personal life. But even if she were in the market for a soul mate, there's no way she would fall for a liar. And her unconventional family life has left Jamie wary of the opposite sex, which doesn't exactly leave her open to the possibility of a serious relationship. Maybe her psychic read the signs wrong and it's supposed to be a hot, steamy affair instead of something permanent. Now that, Jamie could live with. Jonathon Davidson has obviously gone insane. At least, his family thinks so. Why else would he have given up a prestigious, high-paying job on Wall Street? Maybe there's hope for him yet. He may not be a hot-shot anymore, but he's still wealthy and incredibly good-looking. And he does have a job. He's a detective of sorts, looking into crimes in the world of finance. His latest case involves the social work agency where his sister's roommate, Jamie Peters, works. They've applied for funding from his family's charitable foundation, and something definitely isn't quite right with their books. Jonathon needs to make sure Jamie isn't involved in anything illegal. All he has to do is come up with a way to meet her, without revealing his true identity. When Jamie crashes into a stranger on the subway and ruins his takeout spaghetti dinner, not to mention his shirt, alarm bells start clanging in her head. When she looks into his eyes, she knows she's in serious trouble. The gorgeous hunk introduces himself as Jack, and he's quick to forgive her for the destroyed meal. Jamie can't help but like the guy and somehow, they end up making a dinner date. Uh-oh. There was an accident, there was even food involved, but so far, no huge lie that Jamie knows of. Is he married? Gay? What's the story with Jack? He's certainly easy on the eyes and tough to resist. Definitely steamy affair material. But a soul mate? Jamie still isn't buying it. Jack can't believe how hard he's falling for Jamie. The little white lies just keep piling up as he tries to keep her from finding out about the big whopper. He's pretty sure she would run fast and far if she knew he was not only a millionaire, but also investigating her employers. What will happen if Jamie finds out the truth? Can he convince her that Jonathon Davidson is every bit as worthy a man as his alter ego? Erin McCarthy is a master at creating just the right blend of humor and heat. Page after page of steamy, mind-blowing encoun
