Interesting follow up of 70's classic X-MEN SECOND GENESIS

This story continues the famous x-men arc SECOND GENESIS, that shows the begins of the new x-men era. This book reveals who is the third second cyclops brother, the secret Prof. Xavier's agenda. Plus the art is really good. This is must have for an x-men fan.

Instant classic!

I honestly wonder if i read the same story as everyone else here. I think the idea that Xavier had sent in another team to Krakoa to save the xmen was really interesting. Especially in light of WHAT he did to cover it up. It sheds light on how manipulative Xavier can be and really leads into why Cyclops felt it necessary take the reigns of the Xmen from his hands. The art is top notch and leaps off the page. The only problem i have is how Vulcan isn't really fleshed out as a character...he seems a little whiny. I think this is a must have for anyone who follows the x-men, it redefines a lot of characters while paving the way for Scott Summers to quit being such a low self esteem b-tch.

The prequel to Giant Size X-men # 1

Now this is an interesting and fun read. We learn the secret origins of Vulcan, Darwin, Petra and Sway. They are assembled by Charles Xavier to rescue the original X-men trapped on an island that somehow inhibits mutant power. Using telekinesis, Professor X quickly trains the group and sends them to rescue the trapped X-men. The young team, lacking the necessary training and experience, succumb and are apparently killed. But wait, this is comic book world, so when someone dies, they don't remain dead for long. Vulcan comes back to seek retributions for what happened to him and his deceased team. Along the way, we learn that he is the long lost brother of Scott and Alex Summers. We also learn of the terrible thing Professor X has done to Scott (Cyclops) that will forever alter their mutual trust and friendship. The story here is the prequel to the Giant Size X-men # 1 that would eventually become the classic, as we know it today. The artwork is nicely illustrated and a very good story to introduce the Vulcan to the X-men world. Thank god there is no clones here ala Spider-man or Superboy (Conner). Buy it and enjoy it.

A True Sequel

This is a true sequel to Giant Size X-Men #1. This issue was read very delicately to include into this mini series. It finally answers at least one critcial thread that has been around for about twenty years. It also shows either the first or the rarest time when Scott calls Xavier, Charles. Also it does not directly state but I see that Onslaught might not have been all from Magneto's evil psyche. This does change the status of some characters. I do not read the regular issues of any X-Book (with the exception of Exiles) but this is definetly a MUST pick.
