This book enlightens without being preachy (like a bad tv movie). Like life this book doesn't have all the answers or that some answers will come in fits and starts (2 steps forward and 1 back)or you have to read the sequel "Heres to the Sophomores". More importantly it truly captures the perspective of these teens who inhabit that limbo of adult-not-adult, like the movie "Firstborn". Yet another theme is the limited life experience of some teens can result in feeling cornered or not knowing a "B" side can be a hit too. In the end, the teachers, friends, or family or, all 3 (if you're lucky) can save you from yourself, meet you halfway, help you help yourself, and have the potential to truly change your life...for the better.
