World's Best True Ghost Stories

I am 20 now, but this book was in my elementary school libary. I must have rented that darn book fifty times. I loved it. I just recently bought it, and I can't wait till it get's here. I want to show it to my brothers, who might get a kick out of it. Hopefully, my mom is ok with me getting this book, since in elementary school she hate me renting it from the libary, as I would get very freaked out.

I was only 5 or 6 when I first got this book (now I'm 18), but a few of the stories in this collection by C.B. Colby still send a shiver down my spine. The one I found most effective was the next-to-last one, "The Whistle." Not only did it take place in my state of South Carolina, but the source of the title sound was never identified or revealed. In short, it could have been ANYTHING, and to a young reader (such as myself when I first read it), that's the worst kind of fear there is. This is a good book to read to "young-un's" on Halloween, or anytime of the year you want to give them a good scare. I also recommend it for adults.
