sobering but entertaining view of medicine as it used to be

Every parent should read the chapter of the four kids getting into the horrific car wreck out loud to their youthful drivers. It's an eye popping account of carnage thru the eyes of the poor guy that has to try to save them. The accounts of the plastic dinosaurs making their way into the pathology reports are a hoot. He is brutally honest and does not suffer fools or liberals lightly!
Un-politically correct writing at its best!

Could not put it down. From the stories of his childhood, to the day-to-day workings of the profession - a joy. This book is a must read for an insight into the world of family medicine in rural America. Never short on candor, the author allows us to see through the eyes of OUR doctor.
horrifying, funny and brilliant

A real original. Dr. Fox gives the reader a descriptive insight into the many experiences of a male in his generation and upbringing. The stories are many, brief and varied - perfect for the occasional reader with only a few minutes at a time. His descriptions of the events in his life bring life to the whole generation and all the peripheral influences. Quite funny too!
