Working with Purpose

This book is so practical. It really says that no matter where you are on the corporate ladder you can make a change. It gives hope that our work lives don't have to be just the grind or always putting our ethics on the line, or always pitting making money against behaving ethically. They have great stories of real corporations that make a difference in our complex world. They also have a great discussion at the end of the book on enviromental issues which is a very hot topic currently. How can companies go green? If you want to discuss this book on-line with others there is an on-line discussion at the Work and Worship website. One of the quesitons is: " The point isn't how big of a role we can play but how well we play the role we are given"( p. 27) Describe your current job or a job you had in the past. I consult with small business in the accounting area so I always find that ethics is a challenge. Over time my customers behave ethically or they eventually go away. But sometimes it takes time for them to change behavior patterns that are accepted and deeply in-grained in the business world we live in. Enjoy reading this book
