My favorite in the series!

I thought this was the best book in her series because Leah seemed so much like so many people I know. She was such a giving, loving person-beautiful inside and out, but did not feel like she was. So when she meets a wonderful man and he sees her beauty it is so sweet. She had so many negative voices from her childhood, especially the ones referring to her name, to overcome to accept love that it was an inspiration to me.

Awesome

All of the Glenbrooke series is awsome, but this one is tops on my list. You feel as if your taken into the book and go on the journey with Leah. I recommend all of Robin Jones Gunn books, she is an amazing author. This book, especially is worth your time and money.

A Charming book from a great author

Have you ever wanted to live in a small peaceful town where everyone is nice to everyone? There's always someone there you can count on? Well the Glenbrooke Series is just that. A small town in Oregon where people know everyone and everything for as a whole is calm and peaceful. But each character in the series has their own trials in store for them. Leah Hudson never thought of herself as someone particularly pretty. She was kind of known as the "ugly duckling." I'm sure everyone remembers what happends to that "Ugly duckling" by the end of the story, he becomes beautiful. Leah Hudson has always lived in Glenbrooke, Oregon her whole life. She took care of her parents when they were old, when all her sisters went off and married. Her life hadn't been to eventful she'd never traveled much, to anything. But her whole world would be turned upside down when she meets Seth Edwards (yes, he was mentioned in the Christy & Toddy: The College years book #1). Seth was known by his uncle as being a bit out there. He took a year off from school and went traveling around to different places. When he comes back to Glenbrooke and meets Leah things start to spark between them. But when Seth's uncle dies Leah starts to learn a few things from Seth's uncle's lawyer's son (yes, I'm sorry that's a bit of a triangle) about Seth's past. Leah has to learn who to trust and who not to. Is she willing to trust an old high school friend and give up her relationship with Seth? Or is she willing to listen to Seth? This is a great book, and one of my favs. :-) Robin Jones Gunn is just a terrific writer and things are very realistic. I do recommend if you want to read this book to also read the first 6 books. Since it's a series about a town the characters in the book are usually in the earlier books and you get to learn something new about them in almost every book.

This story unfolds like a beautiful, mysterious flower!

This is the first book I read in the Glenbrooke Series. It is like a beautiful parable come to life. Now I am anxious to start the series with #1. Thanks Robin for the insights!

An excellent addition to the series

In "Woodlands," Robin Jones Gunn adds a seventh book to the Glenbrooke series, creating another captivating plot with a charming heroine. Readers will not only meet new characters, but catch a glimpse of some old friends as well, and an old mystery is solved along the way. The beauty of this book is that can stand alone, although first-time readers of Robin Jones Gunn may want to start with "Secrets" and read through the series in the order in which it was written. Enjoy the read, because this is a book well worth buying!
