Useful for Women/Gender in Politics

This text is a good book for an undergraduate course like women in politics or gender in politics. It provides a sound survey of Canadian case studies. Some sections refer to gender/women in the US, as well. I found that the sections on Third Wave feminism, pornography, and prostitution were too quick and easy of assessments. Specifically, they gloss over Third Wave feminism sloppily and I found that I had to lecture extensively to better explain this to my students. Overall, it's a great text, but expensive to use in the Canadian university classroom if you have another textbook. I actually ended up using sections of the book for my class. I will use the book again, but I do feel that a few sections require me to add or correct. This book is not written for a lay audience. The audience is an academic one.
