Women in Science: Portraits from a World in Transition

Vivian Gornick is insight squared as far as I am concerned. This book is OLD but it still rings true. Gornick talked with women, she didn't just cull the data tables and put most of those tables in here, her book has heart and depth. Her women love science, can't wait to get up and go to the lab, are sure that they will unveil important mysteries. I recognize myself in these women and appreciate Gornick's insights into why women are fifth wheels instead of hubs of the science enterprise.
