they did it again

Jane Bayes et al have done it again with another fabulous foray into globalization. You can pretty much bet that any anthology edited with Jane Bayes is going to provide the reader w/ well-organized writing, coherent case studies, and useful theorizing for use in undergrad and graduate courses alike. The book's overall theme is timely and the sections work well with another to paint a picture that examines neoliberalism and globalization critically. The books strength really is that it focuses on Canada, the US and Mexico and compares the marked ways that globalization and neoliberalism have influenced the lives of people living in North America. More so, they examine globalization and its discontents for women. I found the Intro, Chapters 7 and 8 to be my favourites in terms of their real usefulness to me. However, overall the book is a strong addition to global analyses of power. The majority of my students in "Globalization and Resistance" liked the book, as well.
