When I first read parts of this book over a decade ago (I've never read the whole thing), I liked that it was easy to understand and written by a woman. It has a compassionate, conversational tone and struck me as empowering. My only concern with the book today is simply that it's so old as to be, I would imagine, obsolete. The copy I have is copyright 1981, 1984. Surely a lot must have changed in 25 years. Still, it's a worthwhile read if you're the type of person that needs to read a bunch of different perspectives before making any big decisions.
