MUST READ!!!!

This series has to be read and savored by everyone who has ever read a mystery. Heron Carvic created a character that has been sadly underappreciated by so many, mainly through ignorance of her existence. I ,personally, stumbled onto her by accident at my local library and have been re-reading her regularly ever since. In the annals of detective writing she is so truly unique. And the style of writing plus the characters created with her draw you so easily into the intricacies and details of the story. I dare anyone to read this and not be fascinated and want to read everything you can about her. First time readers should know that Carvic's heroine had 2 other authors who followed her career, Hamilton Crane and Hampton Charles. The original creator and writer was truly the best chronicler but the other authors did a fair to good job of following up on the series. I wish there were more books written about her.

Great Read!!

Ms. Seeton adventures are the best reads that I have come across. I am a thirty something that loves these types of British sleuthing novels. I re-read these novels several times a year, I have them all. My favorite used bookstore in Los Angeles had the entire series out of out-of-print ones, so I stocked up on all of them at once. They were over with too quickly. .... Maybe I should have waited and only gotten one book a month!! This book is one of my absolute favorites. The "nuts", (to those who have not had the privilidge of meeting the "nuts", they are the village "budinskies/busybodies") at the church was the highlight! Truly funny!! They are truly one of a kind. I love the time period and the many scrapes that she seems to fall into. They're truly hilarious, while the novels maintain the suspense. I love Britain and try to get to London and environs once every couple of years or so.
