an absolutely must read

I have recently read two of Sudha Murthy's books - this and The Old Man and his God. These books are short stories or rather the author's life experiences. Very simply written, these are powerful narratives, very touching and humbling. It is incredible that Ms Murhty has managed such diverse and unique experiences in her lifetime. These two books are some of the best I have ever read.

Learn more about India

I am in India at the moment, working here about half the time for a software company. A colleague gave me this book Wise and Otherwise: A Salute to Life because books books like "Q & A", "White Tiger" and "Toss of a Lemon" helped me understand the people I meet and what I'm seeing. "Wise and Otherwise" taught me that the distance is much less than I thought. The struggles of women here in India are similar to women in the US and and at the same time play themselves out differently. People's strengths and weaknesses are similar too. This book helped me see all the similarities so I don't feel so different here even if I can't speak Tamil.

The Best Book, Certainly For everybody

Certainly, The best book . The book filled with valuable experience, which is shared with the reader in very lucid and most thoughtful manner. I Laughed and sometimes filled with tears and shame / joy when I read this book. Now I am going to recommend everybody to read this book. I am going to purchase a DOZEN (12 no) books and share with everybody, I know. For others, here is a book written by Mrs SUDHA Narayan Murthy (Wife Of Narayan Murthy - Infosys Founder and Chief Mentor.). Believe me whatever your age is, this book will touch your heart gently. Worth a book read and shared many times... Sudha's experiences are like a diamond, very precious; very strong and very bright. God bless my EARTH... Thanks, Malaya India
