Wireless Java Programming with Java 2

A real good book. It introduces with basic wireless device technological architecture and then explains how J2ME can be used to develop wireless applications. A useful reference book if you want to start learning wireless programming.

Recently I had a need to come up a prototype in a short period of time. I started with no idea about J2ME programming. This book helped me a lot. It gives very detailed information on how to get start.The examples in the book are excellent. Some examples about Networking, XML and SyncML, addresses the real problems every developer would encounter. Considering the book comes so early, its coverage on J2ME is pretty decent. High level introduction of J2ME is not very comprehensive but very precise and informative.

If you are a experienced Java Developer, this book surely help you to develop your own J2ME project even you have no idea on J2ME is. Although this released a bit early so that it has not cover the MIDP for Palm OS. But with the exmaple insides, I think you should hand over J2ME smoothly within a month

Great reference book with good examples and information on J2ME programming. The UI, RMS, and networking material is very useful. I refer to the book often and find the detailed information extremely useful and comprehensive. I would recommend it for any serious J2ME developer.
