I've made quite a few window stars using this book. I got great results with ordinary notebook paper and typing paper which I like even more than the ones I've made with the recommended kite paper. The one drawback with the book is that, similar to origami books, the instructions for the base of the stars are written in one section of the book, and then the details for the star you want to make is on a separate page elsewhere.
