This is an excellent biography of the life and times of President William H. Taft (1857-1930). The author in 123 pages covers his upbringing in Ohio, his education at Yale and the Cincinnati law school, his various judicial appointments, his political appointments leading to the Presidency, Professor of Law at Yale University, and finally, the ultimate appointment (in his view), Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. Remarkably the author is able to do all this in a short book and make it very readable and fascinating.
