This is a biblical approach to unmasking the authentic God who has been widely misrepresented, the God who loves us regardless of our response. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Carolyn Thomas' book touches deeply on difficult experiences that have left many people so wounded that they cannot find a way to trust God. The subtitle: Healing Our Dysfunctional Images of God really sums it up. Her use of the both the Old and New Testament is great for anyone who has not had a background in scripture or who has an wondered at the relevance of the many "stories" in the Bible. The "stories" are ways to capture entire experiences and allow us to put ourselves in the place of the central figure, for example, to feel the anguish of the woman who had a flow of blood for 12 years and spent all of her money on doctors and healers but to no avail until she merely touched the hem of Jesus' garment. This is a book you could skim in one short session or delve into chapter my chapter in a small study group. I recommend it and will share it with my friends.
