My sponsor wanted me to read this book while working steps 6 and 7. I'm beyond grateful! I don't know that I would've worked step 6 so thoroughly if it weren't for reading this book. It was a great guide to help me use their suggestions on what may qualify as a character defect. In fact, I'm going to purchase the follow-up book "the ripple effect". I'm going to gift my copy of "drop the rock" to someone at my AA home group...

This book has been a wonderful addition to my 12-Step program... but it can be of great help for ANYONE looking to release negative behaviors, beliefs, attitudes & perspectives that have held them back from living more peacefully and freely.

Bill Wilson referred to AA as a 'Spiritual Kindergarten'. If that is so, then the material in 'Drop The Rock' is for those of us at the Masters or Doctoral level. This book is NOT for the newcomer. Nor is it for those who are blissfully filling their days by 'not drinking and going to meetings'. 'Drop The Rock' is clearly targeted at those who have been sober for some time, but find there are still persistent annoying...

Wow! I have been in the program for almost 24 years and this is one of the best books on the 6th and 7th steps I have ever read. i am buying 10 copies to have for all of my friends in the program who after many years still suffer from hanging on to our character defects. i recommend it to anyone in the program. its about taking action!
