A great read

I bought this book when I was in high school in the early 70s and still have the same copy. It's dog-eared and well worn, because I've read it so many times. Some of the quotes just stick in your head, like Frank Zappa saying "Speed will turn you into your parents" .. soo, not sure WHY I remember that one, but it was the 70s...... The book is full of great quotes from all over, categorized into various sections and a lot of fun to go back and read. If I had the book here in front of me right now I'd type out a few more (better) quotes to give you a flavor for what kinds of gems are in there.

Countercultural Class Reunion

I've owned this book since I found it in a bookstore in Westwood (near UCLA) in 1973. It's long been one of my favorites and I read it again and again. It's a lot like looking into a time capsule of the sixties, or like going to a weirdly countercultural class reunion. I highly recommend it for it's humor and countercultural historical perspective.

Wonderful Snippets of Counterculture

I was given a copy of this book while I was in college, in the mid 70's. I still remember looking through it over and over, trying to find the right thought for what I needed at the moment. The book disappeared over the years and I missed it. I discovered the Dallas public library had a copy in the reference section so I went down there one Saturday and hand copied most of it. Then I was elated to find a copy at a used book store for a dollar. It is time for a reprinting of this book. It's a wonderful rememberence of the counterculture of the sixties (bleeding over to the seventies) yet many of the ideas expressed by the quotes are fresh and applicable today. Plus, Spiegelman's too-few illustrations are great. If you find a copy of this - BUY IT!

New edition please!

Long out of print, this is the best book of quotations I have ever seen. I beg the editors to update and expand it in a new edition.I gave my only copy away to my best friend over 25 yeas ago and have been thinking about and looking for it ever since.

Whole Grains-Back to My Roots

I've had this book ever since I was in my early 20's and it has been sitting in my living room or even ends up in the bathroom where almost every house guest picks it up and comments how wonderful and fun it is, I hope to be able to find several copies to give as future gifts
