Looking at a side of politics we often forget - living it

Ted Jones has captured the character and spirit of the middle '40s when FDR was king and JFK was undecided and searching for a footing. I thoroughly enjoyed this authors probe into the characters, their daily lives, the events of the day and the shaping of the world around them. Seeing JFK as a human being rather than as an almost sainted martyr that he has become today brought me to an understanding of how he came to his philosophical political attitudes. Glimses of FDR at ease and dealing with the pressures of his disability and his office made him real for me.
