For Halloween, the Sesame Street friends all dress as witches. As the "trick" part of "trick or treat," they make people guess which witch is which. This warm, funny story also teaches the powers of observation. Full color.
My little boy loved this book from the time he was 18 months with zero exposure to Sesame street at all. Now that he's 2 and a half, he can practically quote the whole thing. It's just a really cute story about Halloween and helped prepare his little brain for trick-or-treating this year!
Insight into the toddler's mind?
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 15 years ago
Reviewing this book is one of those cases where I must really put myself into the mind of the primary audience. In this instance, that would be my 16-month old daughter. While there is certainly nothing wrong with this book and story, I personally wouldn't place it any higher than many other books out there. However, from the moment my child saw this book (at about 12 months old), it has been one of her absolute favorites. Time and again, it's the one she brings to us to read. I don't know if it's the pictures, the sounds, or the taste of the cover (yes, she's a toddler), but something is doing the trick. So if you're buying this book for someone older than 4 or 5, I can't help you. However, if it's for a toddler, I would definitely recommend it!
