I ordered this for a 7 year old and was suprized when I got it. However it was such a beautiful book I did not want to send it back. So I gave it to her 5 year old sister who also loves animals and snow. Then I ordered and received the other When Snow Flakes fall and gave it to the 7 year old who had requested it. [...]

I love these books by Carl Sams. Excellent pictures. The board books are quicky stories of the extended hardbook versions. Recommend them all, plus the DVDs that go along with them.
A great book for ages 2 to 5 about what happens when snow falls in the woods

This excellent book tells a child what the animals do when snow starts falling in the woods. It describes how each animal family gets ready for the winter and the snow that follows. Most of the birds and animals were photographed near the authors' home in a nature preserve. It teaches a small child about nature and how each of these creatures prepares for winter and a snowy environment. From the owl and chipmunk and others, it tells what each does. The photography is, as usual, fantastic.
