When I Was a Girl . . . I Dreamed

This is a wonderfully written and illustrated book. The rhyming poems are creative and fun, without being cheesy. I bought this book for my daughters and now buy it as a gift when they are invited to birthday parties. Would highly recommend!

My cousin is a teacher in Colorado where the author is from. She sent this to my daughter for a gift. We absolutely love this book! I really believe this book should win an award! The art is fabulous! The words are fabulous! This is one of my favorite books! I strongly suggest every girl should have this book! It teaches your daughter to dream big! I LOVE IT!

We were moving from San Jose, CA to Richmond, VA and my husband drove our car cross-country and had the pleasure of meeting Mark at an arts show in Jackson Hole, WY. He purchased several books and our children love them. The illustrations help our children to stretch their imaginations and they all offer great lessons. We now have four of his books and will definitely own all of them soon. If you order directly from Mark's website you may ask for him to sign the book and add "Squeakers" the little mouse that shows up throughout his books. My daughter loves this book as she can dream about all the great adventures she can have when she grows up. We even bought some artwork from him to put on her wall.

What a fantastic book! I purchased, "When I was a Girl, I Dreamed..." to read and donate to my daughter's 2nd grade class. The children were ohhhing and ahhhing about the "dreams" as well as the beautiful illustrations. They were all intrigued. Even the boys were not disappointed. When I finished reading, the children were all asking to be the first to borrow the book from the school's library.

Beautifully written, wonderously illustrated, this is a great book for girls of all ages.....It breakdowns the stereotypes of what a girl can't do...a perfect Christmas present for my 3 nieces in San Francisco!
