Have You Been Neglecting Yourself?

Robin McGraw has written a very helpful book for women who are looking for an introduction to anti-aging secrets. She also teaches that it is not selfish to put yourself first. So if you have been neglecting yourself this book will be motivating. Robin McGraw's friendly peppy conversational writing style makes this book very easy to read. She is also very convincing and has a way of writing that helps you to not only take action but to feel good about it too. After reading her husband's books on weight loss and diet I was surprised to read that Robin McGraw has never been on a diet in her entire life. She eats carbs and butter and occasionally binges on her favorite foods. You may also be shocked to know that she has never had a facelift. So how does she look so young? One of her secrets is that she exercises on a regular basis and gets enough sleep. In this book you will find detailed instructions for how to exercise and get a good night's sleep. "What's Age Got to Do with It?" is designed for women over 35 and it does briefly discuss bio-identical hormones. While there is an introduction there was not enough detailed information about the actual hormones. For that you may want to read books by Suzanne Somers - Ageless: The Naked Truth About Bioidentical Hormones . If you are worried about wrinkles this book talks about how sugar can be a culprit. For more detailed information on skin care by Dr. Perricone read - Dr. Perricone's 7 Secrets to Beauty, Health, and Longevity: The Miracle of Cellular Rejuvenation. Robin McGraw doesn't talk about "7-Keto DHEA" which may be preferable if you are worried about a surge in testosterone. For more information on this subject refer to books by Stephen Cherniske - The Metabolic Plan: Stay Younger Longer. What I loved about this book is how human Robin McGraw appears to be. Even with all her wealth and fame she still comes across as a woman who has faults but she has learned to live with them. She is also not satisfied to live a nominal existence; she demands the best life has to offer. She also believes that an "indulgence here and there is healthy for the body and soul." I could relate to her love of shopping at Target, her homemade clothes as a child and her funny stories about hair coloring fiascos, which made me laugh. I've read numerous books on anti-aging but still hadn't heard of some of the supplements mentioned in this book. So it was worth reading for that aspect alone. The only thing I question in this book is the advice to drink an apple cider drink. Some people have had a bad experience with this and the recipe might be better if you only use two tablespoons of cider vinegar instead of half a cup. The other recipes in the book seemed fine and included recipes for facial scrubs made with oatmeal or brown sugar. You may also be surprised to know that instead of some expensive facial product, Robin McGraw sometimes uses plain egg whites. While you may not have enough money to go for monthl

Wonderful!

In this wonderful book, bestselling author and mother of two, Robin McGraw gives her advice on how we can be "the healthiest and most energetic and vibrant women we can possibly be." She correctly points out that most women consider time and money spent on themselves as resources not available to those they love, whereas in reality, investing in yourself makes you a better resource for your loved ones. Following up on that, she goes through, and shows what we can do to take better care of ourselves in an efficient and effective way - in terms of nutrition, skin and health care, and so much more. I think that this is a great audio-book - I mean, is it earth shattering advice that you have never heard before? No, it isn't. But, what it is is great advice on being all that you can be. It is the sort of advice that I have been following all of my life, but Robin sets it all out in a thought provoking and truly informative way. I really like the Playaway player which is very small (two ounces!), just right for listening to when you are exercising, or performing some other physical tasks. (Personally, I listened to it while taking my normal morning power-walk!) And, I thought that Robin McGraw did a great job of narrating the book - she is a wonderfully professional public speaker. So, if you do want to live your happiest and healthiest life, then get this book, and follow its advice! And, if you want a convenient and easy way to listen to this book, then get the Playaway edition - I think that it's great! Urging Women To Make Themselves A Priority

Review of Robin McGraw's "What's Age Got To Do With It: Living Your Happiest & Healthiest Life." I ordered this book for my wife who fits the demographic Mcgraw intended. Here is my wife Michelle's review: In her latest book Robin McGraw provides tips on everything important to a woman's health and well-being such as: Skincare, exercise, hormone replacement therapy, faith, and nutrition. Robin also advocates the use of regular health screenings for cancers, etc. and provides information on free and low cost procedures as well as deep body scans. Her chapters also include professional advice from experts in exercise physiology, nutrition, etc. Her main purpose in authoring the book is to stress that women must stop putting themselves last if they want to be there for their families in the long run. In short to prioritize their lives and maximize their respective health so as to benefit themselves and/or their families. She uses her own mother as an example of a woman who put herself last and died too young. Although it is easy to stress that Robin has access to time and money to realize her health and beauty goals, her advice has application to every woman of every means who simply desires to be as healthy as she desires. Thank you for reading my review. Michelle. JP

Kindle

I am in love with my kindle. It is my new best friend. I have always been an avid reader, a lover of books and although I was excited by the technology from a "save a tree" perspective, I was hesitant about how it would feel not having the tactile, visual, tangible feel of the book in my hand. Although there is still some sense of something missing, I think I'll get over it as I learn to use more of the options...I am one of those readers who likes to, in the middle of reading, go forward and backward randomly just reading a page here and there. The sharing part is unfair now with my family and friends, they pass their books on to me as they finish them and I can just tell them about a great read. Over-all though I absolutley love having my own library at my fingertips to throw into my bag and have available wherever I met be, readily available if I have to wait in line, traffic, etc. Being able to download samples and instantly get an entire book without leaving the comfort of wherever I am is amazing. Thank you!

LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!

Robin makes it very clear that she is writing this book to answer all the questions she gets so I don't understand the comments that there is nothing new here. People asked her what SHE does and she told us (and inclued comments from the experts who guided her) and I am grateful! There is so much information out there that it is nice to have someone share what she has found works. Many of the "hints" are not pricey and the ones that are, one can usually find a close substitute. It is a very entertaining and enjoyable to read book, full of good advice. I am 65 and I needed a kick in the rear and she ahs given me that! I felt energized just from reading it...now, to get on that exercise wheel! I promise!!!
