Dr. Hirsch talks a lot about the importance of the sense of smell which he says is underestimated. Loss of the sense of smell is associated with depression-96% correlation. Victims realize subconsciously that they're in a state of peril-can't smell smoke, etc. It also causes loss of the ability to taste, which results in an increased risk of food poisoning. He says to increase fluid intake and use nasal irrigation to control chronic Sinusitis. A well written book written with a lot of care, not dry and clinical like some others.
