A refreshingly honest and humorous perspective on the myths and misunderstandings of sex, and a guide to lead readers to pursue intimacy from a godly perspective. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Sex is a topic many christians are more than a little uncomfortable discussing. For many christians, this book delivers on it's title. Matthew Paul Turner gives not only the clinical information that no book about sex should be without, but scriptual advice on sexual topics, from a focus on having a 'holy and healthy' sex life. He draws from interviews he conducted (with both single, and married, christian women and men) and from his own life to show the reader that no matter the issue, question, or concern they may have, they are not alone. His presentation humourous in a way that's a little disarming, in a good way. Many people want to laugh when they're uncomfortable. Since one premise of the book is that too many christians are too uncomforatable talking about sex, it's only natural to throw in some levity to take the edge off a bit. The publisher labeled this books as for 'twentysomethings', but there is value here for teens and married adults. He gives advice and encouragment for abstaining until marriage and how to make married sex the experience it was meant to be.
Great Read!

An absolutely great read for all ages. This book is brutally honest and descriptive, which, at times, make the reader a bit uncomfortable, but it's the honesty that makes this book great. Mr. Turner does a great job of presenting really sensitive material in a light hearted yet serious spiritual manner. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in 1) learning more about how we can discuss sex as a Christian, 2) how to live a healthy sexual lifestyle as a Christian, 3) how to improve one's married sex life through the ideas and principles God has laid out for us. I have started to recommend this to my college friends because it has changed the way I have viewed married sex. I used to think it was a bad thing and the author has used the Bible as a guideline to really show the reader that God created this wonderful experience for our enjoyment and that we shouldn't be afraid to embrace it (in the correct way, of course). Mr. Turner's witty humor, vivid descriptions, and overall understanding of what the Bible has to say about sex, makes this book a must have for anyone who wants to grow and learn more about the topic of sex.
amazing, honest, witty, and freeing!

I grew up in the "sex is only good in the context of marriage so we aren't going to talk about it --EVER-- until you're married, and while you're at it, go ahead and kiss dating goodbye" Christian theology of thought. Matthew used both humor and truth to weasel his way into my mind and heart and changed me forever. I was better prepared for marriage, a healthy sex life, and healthy sex conversations because of this book. I wouldn't pass this one along to your junior high cousin or anything, but mature Christians ready to take a long and honest look at something truly beautiful and God-created (I mean sex here, not Matthew's book :) should read this at least twice.
You Gotta Read This Book!

Matthew Paul Turner presents the facts on sex with his own witty commentary to create one of the best books I have ever read on Sex. You may be thinking this is just like any other Christian book on Sex, but it isn't! Matthew covers the toughies and presents the information in such a way that gives you the freedom to think for yourself on various topics. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
A fresh look, from a Christian view point.

The newest book from Matthew Paul Turner presents his unique perspective on Christian sexuality. What you didnt learn from your parents about sex: A guide to a touchy subject arms you with biblical sources, contributors options and as always Matthews own unique blend of tongue in cheek brutal honestly. His easy going conversation style lays out various aspects of sexuality from masturbation to premarital sex, and of course tackles the question how far is too far, in a relaxed but direct manner. Jonathan Edwards would be furious. Though most of this book is appropriate for everyone, some of it focuses on married couples, and other parts you feel the overwhelming need to pull your bible out and see if some of his side bar biblical quotes are really in scripture. All in all, I highly recommend reading this book, its about time someone took a fresh approach to sexuality in the Christian community
