What the Bishop Saw: Volume 1

Vannetta Chapman is my favorite Amish author. This is such a good mystery! It had me calculating in my head the next steps the bad guy was going to take. I loved it. I also love the recipes in the back of the book and Vannetta’s study guide questions and explanations of her research.

This is the first book in her new The Amish Bishop Mystery Series. The story takes place in the community of San Luis Colorado. Henry Lapp is the bishop of this small Amish community and when a fire breaks out a the home of Vernon Frey, an elderly Amish man, and he perishes in the fire, Henry and a couple of the members set out to find the person who set the fires that killed Vernon Frey. During the story we learn of a "gift" that God has given Henry that helps solves the crime. This is a book that will make you want to keep reading to find out who killed Vernon Frey and set the fires and what Henry's "gift" is. This is a boo
