I bought several books on grieving and death after the loss of my grandmother "Gran", because my 8 year old daughter had a very difficult time dealing with her death. This was by far the most helpful book and we still return to it from time to time as needed. BEST BOOK FOR DEALING WITH A GRANDPARENT'S DEATH YOU CAN FIND.

I purchased this book when my kids were very young and before I ever knew their grandma would be passing away. I wished I had it when my kids grandma passed away, but I let a good friend borrow this book and it was never returned. My friend's father had died and I thought it was a great book to read to her two young children. I won't ask for it back since it's been many years now. My kids are older now...13 and 20, but I'm really thinking about purchasing this book again for my home collection. If you are a Christian, you will love this book for your children. It offers our great promise from the Lord that we, too, will one day be reunited with our loved ones.
What Happened When Grandma Died

This book was one of many that was brought to our family by Hospice workers. This is the only one out of the pile that we read to our children. It explains that while on this earth Grandma had a home that she loved, family and friends (relationships) and a body that eventually began to hurt and wear out. When she died she received what the Bible promises to believers, a new Heavenly home, a relationship with Jesus and a body that has no pain. The Bible verses that state these promises are worked into the story. This was the perfect book for our family. We will read it over and over again as a source of comfort. The other books in the pile offered no hope or equated death to dragonflies developing from larvae.
Exellent book to explain about the loss of a loved one.

This book was a great help to explain to my children the unexpected death of their grandfather. The book focuses on the Christian concepts of death and what to expect. My husband and I read the book first and then explained the loss to our 5 year old twin sons. It was amazing how well they handled it. I am donating a copy of this book to my children's kindergarten class in order to help other parents who may need to discuss this difficult topic with their children.
This book really helps children to understand about death.

This is a wonderful book to help children understand about death. The concepts are based on Chritianity and the Bible. Someone lent me this book when my son's great-grandmother died, and not only did it really help my son to understand what had happened, but the whole extended family read it too. I highly reccomend this book for children dealing with death.
