werewolves and other monsters

Werewolves and Other Monsters, by Thomas G. Aylesworth, is what helped piqued my interest in supernatural creatures from a young age. It includes comprehensive and detailed accounts on myths and individuals who claimed to be werewolves. Also included are several other chapters about other mysterious creatures, like the monkfish and other wereanimals. At the end the author gives several explainations about why people may have thought that certain human beings could turn into wolves, like the diseases porphyria and, of course, lycanthropy. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the supernatural, especially werewolves, for any reason. I have read this book several times and it gets better each time. It can probably be found at your local library.
