You Are Now Entering the Simple Life

Darcy Fields is more than comfortable with her Hollywood life. Canoodling with Tom Cruise at movie premieres, sitting next to Naomi Campbell as she gets her nails done, and sharing a yoga mat with Madonna, so she's obviously distraught over her movie star mother's decision to leave their comfy, lavish life in Beverly Hills, for a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. Darcy has heard the saying "getting back to the simple life," but this is too much. Soon, fashionable Darcy is working at the local vet's office - where she is finding every duty impossible - and she's even starring in a small-time television commercial with a Hollywood chimpanzee who happens to have some very serious issues. It may not be Tinsel Town, but hey, it's Darcy's Wild Life. I happened to come across the show DARCY'S WILD LIFE one Saturday morning while I was flipping through the channels, and instantly became a fan of Darcy and her wild companions. So I was overjoyed to find that the show was being made into a book series. WELCOME TO WHERE? is based on two separate episodes of the show - I've seen both of them - and while it is a novelization, Jory Simms has done an amazing job of making it read like a stand-alone book, by putting unknown animal facts at the beginning of each chapter, and special areas for Darcy's Blog to her friends back home. The characters are appealing to readers, and make it impossible to put the book down. WELCOME TO WHERE? is a delightful book that will be scooped up by reluctant readers everywhere, and will have them begging to read the next installment in the series, A CHICK THING.
