RETURN WITH JOY

I met John Long at an art fair and purchased several of his drawings. I forgot I had this book and today returned to read it again. It is so funny and insightful and captures the humor of many different disciplines, eg: police, dogs, overweight people. If you have a sense of humor you will never regret buying and enjoying this books, repeaditly.

Rip roaring side splitting funny

There are a lot of Garry Larson/ Far Side wannabees out there but John Long may very well BE Gary Larson. (HMMM Gary Larson--Lumpy Gravy G-L L-G ) Lumpy Gravy has all the halarity of the Far Side From Cows that think there Human to prehistoric men and a spotted dog that looks suspiciously like something from the far side. For art stundents there are plenty of spoofs and allusions to classic artists like Picasso, Van Gough and Salvadoe Dali.If you have read every Far Side book out there then this book should be next on your reading list.

Very funny, and very American

The angles taken are 'oh-so-true'......the best yet for everyday laughter

Better than Dr. Seuss and really silly.

I'm four and my Daddy bought two children's books for me on my birthday. They're okay, but he got this 'Wumpy Gwavy' book for himself, and I really love it. I grabbed it as soon as it was out of the box and sat reading it for an hour, constantly asking my Daddy questions. "Daddy? Why is the doggie drawing on the other doggie? He's silly." "Ha, ha, that man looks like an ice-cream cone Daddy." "Look at all the butt-moons in the bus, what are all the butt-moons doing on the bus Daddy?" After dinner we all read it together even though Daddy wanted to read me the books he got me. This was a few weeks ago and now everyone has read it, its really funny. Grandma came over and woke us up in the morning because she was laughing too much and Mommy wants to use some of the pictures for work to make people laugh while she's teaching them
