I was a little disappointed in this book, after buying Brian Merlis' similar book of old photos of Brooklyn. This book has a lot of old-timey memorabilia: pictures of menus, advertisements, stuff like that. It's not as fascinating as the first book. Also many of the photos are REALLY old... grainy photos of barren fields with one small cottage in the foreground: a location that in 2010 is an overcrowded, run-down, inner-city street. These pictures are less interesting than the more recent photos, say, circa 1940's, that someone from Brooklyn can more easily relate to.
