This style book provides ideas and inspiration for every aspect of the reader's wedding, from initial concerns to attire, decor, flowers, table design, invitations, ceremony, music, menus and gifts.
Great for a visually inspired person as well as having some great text to help you in the planning and execution of this important day. Yes, the weddings that Mr. Cowie deals with are pretty over-the-top but he offers some beautiful ideas to help you decide on the type of wedding that YOU want and not what the world expects. The text is informative and the pictures divine.I can't wait till his next book comes out.Thank you , Mr. Cowie , for a fun book.

While the weddings presented are opulent (and absolutely gorgeous!), there are practical ideas in this book for all budgets that every bride can cull from. From the small city wedding to the ranch-style weddings featured, all have wonderful suggestions to pick up on. There's also a great section on the right questions to ask vendors and suppliers... and even more valuable is the template for setting up a schedule for the event day (timing is everything!). Colin Cowie is a fantastic event planner and I'm looking forward to using some of these ideas to make my special day elegant and memorable.

The photographs and ideas in this book are absolutely gorgeous! A few previous folks have given the book a bad review because they say that it is unrealistic and that the suggestions are too "expensive," to which I respond, "Bah, Humbug!" The goal for most of us bride-to-bes is to put together a wonderful celebration with friends and family, not to replicate someone else's event. This book should be used as a motivational and inspirational tool, not a cookie cutter! Enjoy this book for itself- a beautifully photographed and well written wedding "album," not a how-to list.
A good book with lovely pictures and original ideas

I really enjoyed this book. The real life weddings gave me some good ideas. I thought that the time schedule which Mr. Cowie gave was practical. I also thought the suggestion that we really examine our likes and dislikes such as favourite movies etc a good idea. The book highlights the use of one's individual style. There is no one so called correct way to do things.
Loved this One!

I am still in awe of Colin Cowie's sense of style - whether it be a wedding or small cocktail party he is organizing, he always does it with that extra special flair that no one can come near. Being a real "90's" bride, a generation X'er, I found this book breathtaking. A great fantasy book (since it highlights a lot of people that I'm sure that the average bride can't match in wedding budget), but it does still show how you can incorporate classy, stylish motifs into your own wedding. It encourages you to put your own sense of style into every aspect of your wedding. Also, I loved the cake pictures. On another note, I liked Beverly Clark's book, Weddings: A Celebration - it's not as up-to-date as Cowie's, but still very useful and visually stunning. Martha Stewart's book, in comparison to Cowie's is not even close. She wrote it in the 80's - and you can tell.
