Susan is Mother-of-the-Bride

Susan's Henshaw's daughter is getting married and, as usual, everything that could go wrong does. However, a missing wedding gown is nothing compared to the dead body which Susan has found. If you can swallow the premise that Susan wouldn't report the murder to the police because she doesn't want to spoil her daughter's wedding day, then you should enjoy this cozy. Acually this book is one of the better ones of the series and contains amusing characters and situations, along with plenty of red herrings and a satisfying conclusion.

A fun read!

I enjoyed this book. It was a light mystery with a lot of fun thrown in via the dissapearing body, the vanishing wedding dress and the other problems that arise from having a murder and a wedding. The author did a good job of picturing the tense times of a wedding. All that was lacking was the normal night before the wedding fight between groom and bride. I read the other reviews and I disagree in that I didn't find the main character, Susan, to be extremely self centered. Rather I found her to be a normal, flawed mother who was working hard to make the best wedding she could for her daughter. I thought her reaction to finding the dead body and her solutions to hiding the dead body funny. The book was fun and enjoyable. It was a light mystery that didn't have a lot of gore. I will read others by this author.

Chrissy's getting married and one of her gifts is a corpse

Susan is trying to give her daughter the perfect wedding. In addition to the usual stress, her daughter's dress has not arrived from Italy and her future son in law's parents have invited all of their former commune buddies to a rehearsal dinner intended only for the family. The usual stresses of family only add to the fun. When the dress finally arrives, Susan goes to pick it up only to find the body of a strange woman with a wedding invitation inside the otherwise empty box. How can she give the perfect wedding in a crime scene? This is one of Ms. Wolzien's better efforts. Her grasp of the details of a large wedding and descriptions of the crazy commune members are wonderful. I really enjoyed the many intertwined plotlines, and the crazy characters really kept me laughing.

a delightful read with the most interesting twists

This is truly a delightful book. Anyone who has gone through a wedding can understand the stress, add a disappering body and only Susan Henshaw can pull it off.

A Mother's worst nightmare

This story continues the saga of Susan Henshaw--the surburban mother t has other outside interest. The stories have followed the growth of her children and the change in her suburban ways. This story takes the suburban Mom and shows some heavy duty problems with the merger of a marriage and a murder. Especially a problem since this Mom wants everything perfect for the daughter--a very normal reaction. It has some disjointed moments but it is a fun read. It is a good book but she has written better ones
