The Brides of Webster County Series

If you like either Christian romance reading or Amish romance reading you should like this series. I personally liked how this series had all 4 books kind of entertwined. Book One was abouth Faith and where she had originally left the Amish faith ... it begins upon her return home with her six-year old daughter Melinda. Book Three is about Melinda ... so those two books where they are years apart definitely are within the same families... which I truly found interesting. Book Two was about Baraba Zook, whom you get to know in Book One, she has just recently become widowed which is heartbreaking ... and her struggles ... and a young widow with 4 young children. Book Four is about Aaron Zook, the oldest of Barbara's boys so there is again that following of the storyline again years later. I had a bit more trouble with Book Three and Four as I was not as emotionally connected to the two younger adults but I still enjoyed the books. These are the first, but defintely not the last, books that I have read by Wanda E Brunstetter ... I plan on ordering another set very, very soon.

"Strong Amish Women"

Going Home Widow, Faith Stutzman Andrews returns home to her parents in Missouri Amish community. It's been ten years since she left. Faith has a six year old daughter. The English world continues to call out to Faith and yet she feels safe and at home with in midst the Amish. Noah Hertzler helps to sooth the soul of others by baking desserts and attaching scriptures. He believes in nourishing the soul as well as the body. Can he sooth Faith's soul. On Her Own On Her Own is the second book in Wanda Brunstetter's Brides of Webster County series. After the death of her husband Barbara Zook was left on her own to raise their four sons and to manage the harness store. She asks harness maker Paul Hilty to help her run the store. They form a nice friendship. When John Frey comes to see Barbara with more than friendship on his mind, Paul realizes he cares for Barbara. Is he willing to woo her or will he tuck tail and leave town. Dear to Me Melinda Andrews dreams of becoming a vet. It is unheard of in the Amish. Women do not get a college education. She loves her best friend Gabe Swartz dearly and Gabe loves her but knows he must either sacrifice his faith or give up Melinda. Allison's Journey Allison Troyer has no idea how to manage a household. Her mother died when she was young. She was raised by her unmarried aunt. The woman never taught Allison how to cook, clean or manage a house. She considered Allison messy. Allison spent most of her life outdoors. She was somewhat of a Tom Boy. When she turns eighteen ,her father sends her to spend the summer with her mother's twin sister. She finds herself living among strangers. James and Aaron are soon competing for her attention. The Brides of Webster County by Wanda E. Brunstetter is four delightful stories in one volume. The name Wanda Brunstetter has become a favorite among fans of romance. "Amish Romance" has become a separate category in the romance genre. While these books are fictional, they give a great insight into the life and beliefs of the Amish. They leave a sense of peace and calmness. The Brides of Webster County focuses on four women in Missouri, each searching their heart concerning their faith.

Book Review

Great Book. Great author. I have loved every book I have read by this author. The Amish culture brings to us a sense of a family, strength, patience, hard work, strong faith, and a love. They are a great inspiration to everyone. Even though I learn their culture from reading fictional stories...I have taken away a new perspective of things and a new sense of calmness.
