We the Animals

Thankfully this was short. There was no method to the writing of this story. It was by far the worst I have read.

I was excited to get this book as I've been looking forward to it. Unfortunately when I opened the book some previous person has taken a yellow highlighter and highlighted every single page some phrase that he or she found important. This is one of the most annoying things that I can think of to do to a book that someone else is going to read. It completely distracts me from the narrative and I don't really care what the previous person thought might be important. I feel this book should have been marked poor instead of good.

This book is short but touching, heartrendering, and incredibly human. The almost verse-like prose style and unique yet familiar characters lull the reader into a state of compassion and hunger. I couldnt put the book down and even after reading it, parts of it stay with me. A modern masterpiece.
