From Mundane to Miraculous

I first heard of Kelly Minter from Beth Moore's blog and her summer bible study based on Kelly Minter's No Other Gods. I am impressed by this young author, singer-songwriter and her down-to-earth approach. Water into Wine takes us back to the wedding in Cana where Jesus, at his mother's request, turned water into wine...his first public miracle. Kelly poignantly draws us into scriptural parallels between the mundane servanthood of "drawing water" and the miraculous creation of wine by Jesus Christ which was dependant on the servants' willingness to be obedient. We can only draw water - Jesus can do all things through us - through our mundane acts of obedience. The story is both simple and profound and Kelly Minter creates a beautiful metaphor for Christian living.

Excellent, Approchable Book by a Spirit-led Young Woman

One of the best books young Christians (both young in age and babes in Christ) will find on really letting God and allowing God to be El-Shaddai: All-Sufficient, All-Powerful. I don't want to give everything away and ruin the experience as God led me to this humbling, honest testimony. Believe me, "Water into Wine" is a down-to-earth must read about stepping back to allow God to unfold and to transform your life.

Unpacking a miracle

What Henri Nouwen did in unpacking the parable of the Prodigal Son, Kelly Minter does for the story of the wedding miracle at Cana, though with a more casual style. Excellent presentation of personal reflections. Definitely worthwhile reading.
