War Dogs

Michael Farmer's 3rd book War Dogs is by far his best. Building upon the rich character base of his first two works ("Tin Soldiers", "Iron Tigers"), "War Dogs" does not disapoint! This book's predictability is about 2 paragraphs before the twist occurs. Michael Farmer keeps you rivited to your seat with your adrenaline pumping. You will find yourself either cheering your favorite characters on, or begging the author to immediately pull him or her out of harms way. "War Dogs" setting, interwoven plot structure, and accounts could be right out off the front page of a major newspaper, just a few years from now. This novel rocks with action, drama, suspense, international politics, and just the right amount of comic relief to keep it and the characters real. Whether you have read Michael Farmer's first two books or not, getting into "War Dogs" is easy, fast, and riviting. If you like action. If you like attention to detail. If you like rock solid characters that are so real you swear you know them, personally. You will love this book.

This was my first Michael Farmer book and I was fairly impressed. The characters are interesting, with solid background stories, the action is fast but still detailed, and the plot is quite original. I look forward to reading the books that preceded this one. The reason this book received 4 stars instead of 5 was the ridiculous ending. I do not want to give it away, and I understand that Maj. Farmer is a tanker, but come on. It just doesn't make any sense to resolve the issue that way.

Michael Farmer has once again used his knowledge to tell another great novel, he superbly depicts what my brothers and sisters in arms go through during times of combat, I have read his last two books, and I can not wait until the fourth installment.

Michael Farmer has written yet another great story in the continuing saga of Patrick Dillon and his fellow tankers. One is lead to wonder if Major Farmer has an inside track on the development of the next generation of armor with his description of the M4X1 tank introduced in this book. In addition, his very human character Dillon and his relationship with his ex-wife is further explained in this novel. I sincerely hope that the good Major continues to entertain us with his writing!
