War Comes to Willy Freeman, an historical fiction novel by James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier, is a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It takes place in Groton and New York in the early 1770's. Some of the main characters are Willy Freeman, Pa Freeman, and Ma Freeman; however a terrible war between the British and the Americans will tear their family apart. When Willy witnesses the death of her father at the hands of the British and her mother being captured, she finds herself running away from home. Disguised as a boy, Willy travels all the way to new Yourk to find her mother dead as well. The reader will enjoy this interesting story filled weth action, description, and suspense. Readers of all ages will enjoy this fantastic novel.

War Comes to Willy Freeman, an amazing historical fiction story, is wriiten by James Lincoln and Christopher Collier, and it will tell you the real story about what happened in the time of the Civil War on the East Coast. The authors wrote an action story abot a young girl, Willy, who lives in Conneticut, where the Civil War is still going on. She and her family, her Ma and Pa, were just freed from slavery. Later on, Willy meets Mr. Fraunces and Horace who work at the Fraunces Tavern. Willy, disguised as a boy, was taken by her pa to Fort Griswold, and her pa was kiled by the British Redcoats. When she returned home,her ma was not there; she was captured by the British! Then she traveled to New York, worked at Fraunces tavern, and stayed with Horace in the barn. She search for her ma even though she was black and female, and there were dangers everywhere. The reader will enjoy the suspense and action of Willy's adventures. If you read this book, you will think differently about the times of the 1700s.

This book was a fantastic book

This book is one of the best partly non-fiction book i have read.I like this book because it tells alot of detailed information about what happened with WILLY, the places he went, and the things that he did. As i was reading this book i always wandered what was going to happen next. Overall this was probably the best book I've read. I recomend this book to any person that likes a good truthful book.

Willy wasin it with her dad and her dad got killed. And the british took her mom dut you have to read it to find outthe rest. And Willy is a strong person and brave to fight her battles. How dose Willy find her mom? Read the book it will give you some more infomation about the war.

WAR COMES TO WILLY FREEMAN is a very interesting and detailed book.If you want to learn about the Revolutonary War, this is your book.Willy Freeman is having hardships in her small town of Grotown. Her dad (a patriot)has fought in the bloody battle which took place at Fort Griswalt.Her mom has been taken away by the British as a prisoner.Now Willy is all alone.This book doesn't just keep you on the edge of your seat, it practicly makes you fall off of your seat. I think this book is a 5* book.I higly recommend this book to any one who likes action and adventure. You should read it!
