Waiting for Chains at Pearl's: Stories of the Settlers of Sierra Nevada

Doc Dachtler moved to Nevada County in the late 1960's and with his wife taught in a one room school house in North Columbia. Doc's poems describe some of the characters he meets including residents dating from the days when the only the only way to get to North Columbia was on horse.
