Book Overview

Scarves are the perfect take-along crochet project. They're small enough to stuff into a tote, there's no fussing about fit, and they're ideal for using up leftover yarn or splurging on a luxury... This description may be from another edition of this product.

Gorgeous

Generally I prefer knitting to crochet, but when I leafed through this little volume at the store, the designs were so new and exciting I snapped it up. If you're tired of the "fun fur" variety of scarf, give this book a look. The patterns are especially nice because they can be made in summer weight yarns to wear with warm weather outfits. An innovative collection.

Very Easy, Very Vogue

WOW! People really will try and buy the scarves off your back (neck)! I know, because it happened to me when I was shopping at the mall at Christmas time. Great patterns that are easy to work, even with minimal crocheting experience. You can substitute yarns, using what you have, if the grams/oz and weight (size, ply) of the yarn is the same. So, use your imagination, gals and guys! One of the best crochet books out there, it is worth every penny you pay for it. This little hardcover book is packed with inspiration and wearable art. BUY IT!

very special

Good knitting books are a dime a dozen; not so with crochet, the poor cousin. So far I've made the scarf by Candace Strick using shetland yarns as in the pattern, and I'm delighted with it. The windchimes scarf is also very appealing done in Koigu yarns. I expect to do many more here but using different yarns. I hope Vogue comes out with a sequel.

Best Vogue Knitting book of this series!

I am a 40-year knitter but only a novice crocheter. I adore this book and I find it to be the best written of my 10-12 crochet books. The patterns range from elegantly simple to breathtaking. If you are careful all are in the grasp of the determined novice. For example, I made the spoke shawl which is listed as one of the hardest patterns. It was a challenge but do-able. And it is a work of art. I've had offers to buy it when I was wearing it!The thing I like most about this book is that nothing looks amateurish or "beginner". Every stole, shawl and scarf looks great. I do recommend that before beginning a project, you make a trip to the copier to enlarge the instructions. It is a small book and you'll be grateful for the bigger type face as you work your projects.

Great inspiration

This book revived my interest in crochet after not having done any for at least 10 years. The patterns are creative and I have already crocheted two of the scarves in the book.
