Despite all the reviews here about shoddy construction, I bought this set of vocabulary cards. Since I already knew about the cheap paper boxes, I devised a plan - I laminated the box sheets before assembling them. That made them much stronger. When tearing the cards apart, you have to crease them first. I was able to separate the cards with only a couple of difficult spots. I separated the cards and assembled the boxes in less than an hour with my sister's help. The cards themselves are well laid out and have all the information you need. They are easily used to study Latin-to-English and English-to-Latin.

The only work necessary to use these flash cards is to tear them out and laminate them. They come pre-perforated in a neat book format so you can tear them out as you progress through the book.

I learned Latin in college using the Wheelock's Latin book and spent hours every night studying my vocabulary by making my own vocabulary cards. I believe the process of writing the vocabulary by hand can be a good way to memorize new words; however, when a language is learned at a rapid pace, writing out each and every note card becomes time consuming and valueless as a memorization tool. I wish I had had the Wheelock's Vocabulary Cards and Grammatical Forms Summary to have made more efficient use of my study time. Every vocabulary card comes complete with chapter label, grammatical information (i.e. nominative and genitive forms of nouns and all principal parts of verbs), and derivatives printed right on them - all you have to do is pop the cards out. Grammatical charts of forms are also included in the back of the book that you can pop out and carry with you in your notebook to pull out easily and study whenever you have time. I highly recommend this product for students using the Wheelock's series and it could act as a fantastic vocabulary builder for students learning Latin from other textbooks as well.
