After reading the author's other fine books, I had high expectations for " Vanished ", and was not disappointed ! Kathryn Mackel has a raw, gritty, fast paced, style. Her ability to bring out the best (and worst) characteristics in average people, are reminiscent of Stephen King or James Patterson without King's anti-christian bias. The hand of God is seen in action without it always being overtly done. I am waiting anxiously for the second book in this series because I have no idea how this fine story might end based on the first book!

as a mom of four i dont find much time for my passion reading, this book was a pleasant suprise! I loved it, and can't wait to find out what happens in the next books. I also loved the insight and prose like writing of Mackel. I just picked up The Hidden and can't wait to read it.
