Great For Pre teen-young adults!

I read this series, well, most of it, in my lower years of high school, and fell in love. My copies were ruined, so even as a 25 year old adult, I am getting them again to add to my collection, because my girls will also love them as they get older! Its about a young girl who doesn't really feel like she fits in, in her goth attire, in a town filled with normal people, who meets a charming new neighbor...whose also a vampire? its Great, honestly.

Stereotypical,but funny

It's a stereotypical "goth girl meets brooding vampire"trope. I am gothic. But enjoyed this for how cheesy it is

Addicting

This new edition of Vampire Kisses includes the three first books in the series: 1.Vampire Kisses, 2.Kissing Coffins and 3.Vampireville First of all and to give you an idea of how much addictive this series is I'll tell you I read the whole book in one day and when I finished my eyes kept asking for more adventures of that lovely gothic couple; Raven and Alexander. What I loved the most about this series is the humor with which is written. There were times while reading I couldn't help but to LOL. I especially enjoyed the conversations between Raven and Trevor (her nemesis); they two are a really funny pair. Alexander is a perfect gentleman; he's so sweet and shy but, at the same time, protective and aggressive when it comes to Raven's security. He starts as a mysterious guy and bit by bit, as we get deeper in the story, we discover new things about him and about his life as a vampire. Jagger and Trevor are the principal troublemakers of this story. Both attempt against Raven and Alexander, but while Trevor is the most popular boy, star of the football team who doesn't have anything better to do than to make fun of Raven (on whom he has a crush), Jagger is a dangerous vampire who claims revenge. But if I had to choose a character, that would definitely be Raven. She is the perfect stereotype of a Goth girl and while she is marked as an outcast she has the strength to confront anyone who gets in her way. All se needs is a bit of understanding and love. Overall: With this series, Ellen has created a fantastic new Vampire world full of humor, gothic stuff and, of course, love.

I'd love to have a cool friend like Raven!

Raven has to be one of the coolest chicks I've ever encountered in a story. I love her banter with Trevor, and the love story with Alexander is PG but definitely swoon worthy. I recommend this series to all ages. I'm 36 and loved it! There's no blood, gore, or body count but there's lots of adventure and fun!

Very, Very Good!

This was a delicious book that's aimed at teens but will be enjoyed by readers of all ages. The writing style of the author really appealed to me. The characters in Vampire Kisses are diverse and fascinating and Raven is dark, yet smart and strong. It's pretty fast paced which kept me interested and flipping the pages to see what would happen next. I literally found it hard to put down!! I loved Meyer's Twilight Series and Sherry Mauro's books, but this one is just as good. Well-written!!

This book set a new record with me

I very litteraly couldn't put it down. I managed to read the whole entire thing in less than 24 hours; it was that good. Normally a book of this size might have taken me a week to read, but not this time. I absolutely LOVED the characters (even the ones I hated, I still loved to hate them.) The writing was a little weird and robotic at times but that was easy to look past because the story was that damned good. I loved how I could relate to the music, writers, and even movies the main character liked. I could honestly see Raven being in my circle of friends. I personally loved this much more than Twillight because it was more a vampire story than a mushy-gooshy love story. This author has definately made it into my favorites list. Along with Anne Rice, PC Cast, James Gillen and Dan Brown (yes completely different genre, but a damned good writer nonetheless.) I highly recommend this book if you like Vampire Romance with a little more "bite" to it.

raven is an awesome chick!!

this book is well written and yes, im sure a lot of you will agree that when you read this, it resembles twilight.. they're similar but totally different.. similar in the sense that a mortal is falling in love with a vampire.. the difference is that raven, the heroine is an outcast but she is so awesome that she can take care of herself and stand up for herself.. im tired of books that potrays the "perfect" heroine.. they're always liked by everyone, everyone has crushes on them..so this is really something fresh.. another difference is that raven is "dark".. she is a gothic girl, loves vampire and loves the dark..she is the anti-heroine but because she is so fierce when it comes to staying true to herself and defending her bestfriend and also, holding up against trey, the nasty jock.. alexander in this book is so dreamy :) and like raven, they're outcast..he's an outcast in the vampire world coz he's a "vegetarian" (sound familiar??).. i think this book is a good read and it also teaches you about tolerance, acceptance, staying true to yourself.. i give it 5 stars..well, a book this awesome deserves a lot more than that :)

You know that feeling of heart-stopping embarrassment you get when you come across a photo of yourself from years ago? It's a universal 'oh-my-god-I-can't-believe-I-thought-that-was-cool' moment, and we've all been there. Puberty can a time of questionable stylistic choices and a deluded state of believed independence. I for one thought it would be a fabulous idea to cut off my butt-length brown tresses in favor of a bleach blonde pixie cut sometime in the middle of my sophomore year of high school. Of course it was a terrible idea, and I was left with five awkward years of grow out and dye jobs, and a really unfortunate driver's license until I turned 21.
