Book Overview

Noramary came out of the parlor into the hall. Stunned by what she had just heard, she felt slightly light-headed and leaned against the closed door for a moment to steady herself. The shock of Winnie's elopement during the night had been followed by a second -- the staggering request of her foster parents that she step into her errant cousin's place as the bride of Duncan Montrose "So you see, my dear, why we must ask this of you?" Couldn't Put it Down

Jane Peart is now one of my favorite authors. This book only confirms it more! Noramary is a beautiful, shy young woman who is asked to marry a Southern planter in order to avoid scandal. She hardly knows Duncan and is fond of another. This book contains romance and heartbreak. I fell in love with the characters and read it in two days. I would highly recommend.

Valiant Bride-Brides of Montclair Series

Before I purchased this book, I wanted to know what condition it was in and the price, the descriptions of the book's condition was really helpful, it was a little late in arriving but when I e-mailed the person on the other end (I believe it was Tiller Books), was very nice and gave me a timeframe of when it might arrive so I could e-mail back and get issued a refund if I wanted. However the book did finally arrive and it was in good condition as the pre-purchase statement described, it had been read a lot but the cover and pages were in good condition and worth the money I paid for it.

Good but sad.

I enjoyed this book, but it was pretty sad. She had to marry a man that she didnt love only to have him get mad at her and not talk or have anything to do with her. It did have a good ending and I know that this is not the end of the story.

Valiant Bride

I absolutely adored this book! Normary may have been in love with another man at the time she carried out her duty to save her name and family reputation, but she is very amiable. She has a quiet strength of character that is very hard to find. I found Normary and Duncan so exciting that I finished very quickly.

A Tender, Touching Tale

To fully appreciate this book, one must be willing to step into a culture of a different time. The colonial setting lends itself to a story which shows self-sacrifice and redemptive love. The story of Noramary will make you cry, laugh, and smile. It is a story of true love. This romantic tale deserves more than one reading.

WOW!! What a great story!

Granted this review won't be as "great" as the previous but simply put I love this book!! It's been some time since I first read this book so I'm going to try to give it the credit that it deserves. I was very young at the time when I read this book (I was around 12 years old) but I have to say that if I hadn't read Valiant Bride I wouldn't have read the other books in the series! As the previous person mentioned the book is very realistic, but that's what makes a wonderful tale! You feel what Noramary felt!A great book!! I have to admit I did cry at the some parts, but you just had too! I'm not a person how gets real emotional over the books I read, but this was definately worth it and I would read it again!
